• Awarded EMERK Gold medal for the best scientific paper in neurosurgery read at the 34th Annual Conference of Neurosurgical society, held at New Delhi in Dec 1986.

• Received best paper award from the surgical society, Bangalore for the paper titled Anterior Microsurgical approach to Cervical spine,1989.

• Received best paper award from the Karnataka Orthopedics Association for the paper titled Multi level Anterior Cervical Discectomy without Fusion, 1998.

• Diplomat of Merit for the papers "Craniovertebral junction tuberculosis", presented at the 3rd Asian Conference of Neurosurgical Surgeons held in Nogoya, Japan in Nov 2000.
